Editorial principles & AI assistance

bupt.ai · Site information · Revised

This site aims to provide clear engineering questions, traceable sources and reproducible methods. Additional paraphrased pages alone do not add value. This policy sets the standard for new content; it does not imply that every archived page has received the same level of review.

Separate sources, inference and examples

Check policy requirements against the issuing body’s original text, research findings against papers and supplements, and product performance against the manufacturer’s test conditions. Retain titles, original sources and dates, including the conditions attached to cited claims. Industry claims without independent evidence must not be presented as confirmed facts.

Our own derivations and recommendations must be labeled as analysis, rather than attributed to cited authors. Numbers constructed to explain a method must be labeled as examples or synthetic scenarios, not company measurements or engineering acceptance data.

Where AI is used

AI assists with some briefings, paper summaries, translations, code and method notes. AI is not a factual source, and fluent generated text does not establish that citations have been verified. The three method notes in this edition are also AI-assisted. Their example arithmetic and page structure can be checked with the accompanying tests; no independent expert or peer review is claimed.

Repetitive template commentary, weak sourcing and title–content mismatches in archived articles require individual review. Labels such as ‘expert reviewed’ or ‘verified’ must reflect completed work. Extra text cannot fill a gap in evidence.

How to check engineering calculations

Record input conditions, property-model versions and reference states. Check equations and dimensions, then numerical solutions and mass and energy balances. Finally, compare against independent literature, experiments or field records. Unit tests and round-trip calculations using the same backend can reveal implementation issues, but cannot replace independent physical validation.

Copyright, reuse & corrections

A paper summary or interpretation does not grant permission to reproduce the full text. We favor publisher pages, author pages and lawful open versions, without bypassing access controls. Third-party figures require source and license information. Generated illustrations must not be described as experimental figures.

Confirmed substantive corrections should record the date, change and reason. Removing failed samples or silently changing a denominator must not be used to manufacture better results. Use the correction template to identify the page and supporting evidence.

Advertising & content

This homepage edition and these information pages have no ad placements. Future ads must be clearly separated from links, download buttons and editorial content. Tool access must not depend on clicking an ad. An advertisement is not a technical endorsement of the advertiser or product.
